The musician remains one of the most powerful figures in global music. Few artists have sustained such dominance across genres, blending hip hop, R&B, and pop into a sound that continues to shape the charts and influence culture. Drake's songs become anthems for entire seasons of life, from viral club records to introspective late-night soundtracks. He still matters because his voice is a mirror of the times. Every release, every performance, pulls the world into conversation.

This year the conversation is louder than ever. Following a heated feud with Kendrick Lamar in the beginning of the year, Drake turned the attention toward his collaboration rather than conflict. On Valentine’s Day he and PartyNextDoor released $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, a project that shot to number one on the Billboard 200 and dominated streaming platforms. Fans embraced tracks like NOKIA as reminders of the chemistry that has defined OVO from the beginning. Critics were divided, but the impact was undeniable. The album has now come alive through the $ome $pecial $hows 4 U tour across the United Kingdom and Europe. The run began in Birmingham on July 20 and will close in Hamburg on September 23. This marks Drake’s first tour in the region since 2019 and fans have been setting the tone both inside and outside the arenas, treating every show like a once-in-a-lifetime homecoming.

The Power of Collaboration

Drake and PartyNextDoor’s creative bond runs back more than a decade. Party signed with OVO Sound in 2013 and quickly became a trusted collaborator. Together they shaped early R&B crossovers and developed a signature mood-driven sound that continues to influence global music. The record $ome $exy $ongs 4 U feels like the culmination of that relationship. It blends Drake’s global reach with Party’s ability to create atmosphere and intimacy. It carries the energy of arena anthems but also the quiet confessions that play best alone at night. On stage the two shift easily between these modes, building a dynamic experience that feels both expansive and deeply personal.

The Tour So Far

Drake began the European run with three consecutive headlining nights at London’s Wireless Festival in July. Tickets sold out faster than ever in the festival’s history, setting the tone for the rest of the tour. Across Paris, Berlin, Copenhagen and other major cities, the shows have been a spectacle of production, choreography and emotion. Controversy has followed them as well. In London and Amsterdam fans shouted anti-Kendrick chants, bringing the feud energy back into the arena. At certain shows bottles and even rolls of toilet paper landed on stage. Several dates were shifted or cancelled due to venue or travel complications, including Zurich and Manchester. Even with disruptions, the energy of the crowd has been overwhelming. Fans echo every word of the new and old songs while PartyNextDoor finally enjoys the spotlight his writing and production have long deserved.

It resonates because Drake and PartyNextDoor have tapped into something larger than promotion for a new project. They are revisiting the foundation of OVO and showing why that blueprint still holds power. Party’s presence is essential here. For years he shaped the sound of OVO from behind the curtain. This tour places him at the front, reminding the audience how much of Drake’s world has always been a shared creation. The emotional pull of the shows comes from memory as much as from music. Playlists, mixtapes and old albums come rushing back when the two step into familiar melodies. The music becomes both a time capsule and a reset.

Fifteen years in, Drake continues to define the pace of global music and PartyNextDoor, once the architect behind the scenes, now stands beside him as an equal. The $ome $pecial $hows 4 U tour is proof that their bond still shapes the sound of today. There is chaos and criticism around them, yet the music cuts through, filling arenas and sparking conversations across continents. It is a statement about longevity, collaboration and influence. Drake remains at the center of culture, and with PartyNextDoor at his side, the echo of OVO carries louder than ever.
